KiteWest is a watersports and tour organizer in Geraldton, Western Australia. Activities include kiteboarding, surfing, stand up paddleboarding, yoga, SUP yoga, personalized 4WD tours and week-long outdoor trips in the Coral Coast and Bali-Indonesia. They also specialize in facilitating accredited yoga teacher training programs and workshops in Bali.


Despite having an active web presence and more than adequate turnover, KiteWest was not prominent in the digital space. Their website failed to rank and also was subject to penalties. The site was attracting only about a thousand visitors each month. This well-run business had fallen short on its online marketing initiatives and they realized that they were missing out on potential customers.
Organizein was tasked with improving their online visibility and increasing the share of online bookings.


Organizein conducted a detailed technical audit of the website and fixed several errors which were preventing customers from using the site. Changes were made to clean up and fine-tune the website to improve ranking by smoothing the navigation and improving the website response speed. We improved the quality of text and images across the website.
Detailed keyword research was used to find words and phrases used by the client’s potential customer base. Then we tweaked the key pages to better address these needs. Several meta tags and keywords were modified to improve SEO ranking.

The website was bearing a lot of spammy links which after removal resulted in significant improvement. Restructuring internal links and focus on implementing the right schema codes improved page ranking.
We were fortunate in building several high authority back-links with the help of KiteWest’s members. We worked with several local and international personalities to increase the exposure of the website and their business.
To generate meaningful content on a regular basis to the website, we added a blog and arranged to publish SEO optimized content on a weekly basis.
A sustained email campaign was designed to engage and attract customers.


The website optimization resulted in higher visibility and increased the number of visitors. Improved content and promotions of longer readable blogs increased our page views and longer visitor sessions that ultimately resulted in improved ranking and authority for the KiteWest website. The website now enjoys top 3 rankings for over 10 keywords, and has a cemented reputation as an online market-leader in their particular field.

Several well designed email campaigns and seasonal promotions saw excellent open rates (20% and above) and resulted in proportional increase of visits to the landing pages. A well timed and themed mass mailing program saw high open rates bounce rates at their lows. Responses / queries to these messages too went up and had an impact on engagement with customers both old and new.
The average number of website visitors increased by 2X. The number of visitors from Google searches doubled and the number of seasonal inquiries went up by 7 times!
With the worst of the pandemic being over (hopefully) Organizein and KiteWest are looking to step up efforts in time for the upcoming holidays!
