Roger had one simple mandate when he first approached us: To appear on page 1 - of Google’s search results for the term ‘multi-tool blades.’ Of course, things have changed a lot since then!
The Organizein SEO team carried out a full audit of the Smart-Tool website to identify any technical issue that had a negative impact on organic search performance. We came across a range of on-page issues that included poor metadata, a lack of content and canonical tags.
We resolved technical on-page issues, and came up with recommendations to amend canonical and 404 issues. A number of pages of unique website content were created, which added value to the site from both user and search engine point of views. We also optimized their PPC AdWords account, directing the budget to high performance key-words and regular monitoring of key seasonal trends in relation to search terms.
Our optimisation resulted in the page 1 ranking for the key term ‘multi-tool blades’ – the client’s main requirement. The website also experienced a rise in ranking for several industry-relevant terms some of which it had never ranked previously.
In terms of metrics, the site achieved an over 80% increase in traffic and new users, 4X times click through rates for PPC and 2X fold increase in conversion!
